International experience

One of EMBA Program themes is about globalization - the world around us. During the year the participants make three trips:  to India in January-February; to China in April; and to Silicon Valley, California in September. They study the economy, the country and the society.  They see life as it is in companies, in villages, in schools and even in slums.  They investigate business opportunities for their companies, and they work on real consulting projects and start ups.

Admission Criteria - Pulling together a powerful group of executives who are keen to learn

Our admissions policies aim at securing the highest caliber of participants. There is no 'ideal' profile of an Executive MBA candidate, since we strive for diversity in the class.

The program is designed for those 33 and older, with a minimum of 10 years business experience (typically participants have an average of 15 years). We look for talented men and women with strong management experience, steady and rapid career progression and outstanding leadership potential.

Intellectual ability
You must have demonstrated intellectual ability through both of the following:

• Knowledge of foreign languages

English language proficiency
English is the language of instruction. You must have a strong command of both written and spoken English.

The Executive MBA program requires a serious commitment from you and your sponsoring organization, which must be willing to become a 'laboratory' for your learning.

The IMD Executive MBA is a modular program and consists of two stages - the Foundation Stage and the Mastery Stage.

The Foundation Stage offers flexibility in choice of program and timing. It covers key themes and business fundamentals and ensures you the broad knowledge base required to launch your Executive MBA work.

The Mastery Stage of the Executive MBA is made up of five modules, over the course of one year.  During the Mastery stage you expand you abilities, sharpen your leadership skills, and bring the immediate benefits of your learning to your company through unique company-specific assignments.

The tuition fee for the program is CHF 126,000 (considerably less for those with advanced standing). Fees include tuition, teaching materials, and weekday lunches at IMD. Travel and living expenses are not included.
